Man Alone…

LE RECONTEUR

I searched in the highs and lows,

I’m drenched to my back and brows.

I got to the ends of Earth,

And all I got was earth.

I traced my way back home,

Hoping to be alone.

—

And there he was;

Standing in a corner of Mayfair,

Where the silence was all there were.

All by himself, smoking his last cigarette.

On the same spot where we last met.

I said, “Where have you been?”

He said, “Ask me anything”

The Man on the Street

—

Angered I asked;

Where were you when my world fell apart?

When my days were bloodier than a broken heart.

You left me, lost and insecure,

In a world, dark and so impure.

Why did you leave me all alone,

To find my way on my own?

—

He smiled and said;

I’d never leave you if I wasn’t sure,

That every trial given was your measure.

That through your blood-shot eyes,

You’d still see the cloudless skies;

If I wasn’t certain that your wealth and troves

Would not surpass all your heart loves.

—

I blink to hide my tears;

He looked to me and said,

I love you son, your debts I have paid.

All I ask in return,

Love me true through every turn.

With this he kissed my forehead.

I opened my eyes and the silence held.

Again, he left me on my own,

Only now, I would never be alone.

—

And thus my encounter with God.

      5. Yes I did….. But then again u decided to go all religious on us….. Funny that poem spoke to the very best of us….. Like I always say…. Art can be used to lift even the most depressed and lost souls amongst us all
