A Drop of Blood in a Bowl of Milk

A DROP OF BLOOD IN A BOWL OF MILK

A lie apprehended,

A truth comprehended,

The rush, the flush,

It happens all the time.

A sin absolved,

A fight resolved.

It wrenches your heart,

And leaves you tart.

It courses through you like…

A drop of blood in a bowl of milk.

A drop of blood in a bowl of milk

Two lovers in the garden,

What sights are we beholding?

A lingering caress,

Designed to ease the stress.

I wish those times again.

Lo, what causes the flurry?

Run, my younglings, hurry!

The Dame is quick to scolding.

They blush,

It spreads across like…

A drop of blood in a bowl of milk.

K I S S I N G…

Now ‘tis dying song,

May it not go unsung.

Like a ripple, may it spread;

Through the ages, may it be heard.

Let it stain the hearts of men like…

A drop of blood in a bowl of milk.

Blood is thicker than milk…

P.S: In the very near future, our quillsonfire family would be welcoming another author; a lady poet.

She will be addressing you all when she is ready so… Stay tuned.

Kane out.

  1. I’m just gonna make like i’m not seeing what’s happening between Kane and Nkem…

I’m not entirely sure I get what you were trying to say in this poem, but I like how it flows.
